Family night at September 23 Outdoor Movies

The earlier sunset in September means it’s Family Night for the last Outdoor Movies of the season at Sorauren Park. And it’s a special double-header, featuring Turning Red starting at 7:15 pm, followed by the family comedy Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

But come early for the return of the Teddy Bear Clinic, staffed by the Dundas West Animal Hospital, one of our Outdoor Movie Sponsors. Come watch as a vet performs check-ups and “surgery” on stuffed animals! The Clinic starts at 6 pm.

Remember to bring your reusable container to save 50% off fresh popcorn from the Snack Shack!

Set in Toronto in 2002 and directed by Toronto’s own Domee Shi, Turning Red is the Oscar-nominated Pixar animated feature film that follows Meilin “Mei” Lee, a 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian student who transforms into a giant red panda when she experiences any strong emotion, due to a hereditary curse.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is the 1989 sci-fi family adventure classic starring Rick Moranis as a struggling inventor. His kids and the neighbors’ kids are accidentally shrunk down to the size of a quarter-inch (6 mm for the metric-minded), and must make their way through various dangers back to their house after being thrown out with the trash.

The Outdoor Movie Series is produced by the Friends of Sorauren Park and supported by our generous sponsors, and donors like you!
