Rink closed during thaw, storm

The rink is closed during thaws to protect the surface for a fast rehabilitation.

The Sorauren natural ice rink is temporarily closed to ride out the above-zero temperatures this week and the coming storm. The Sorauren Hosers Rink Crew volunteers will make every effort to have the rink open this weekend, weather permitting.

Because it’s a natural ice rink, melting and surface damage occurs when temperatures rise above zero. Staying off the rink helps the Hosers bring back the surface as fast as possible once the weather improves and temperatures drop to where they should be.

Watch this space and our social media channels @SoraurenPark for news and possibly another volunteer call-out to help dig!

The Sorauren Hosers Rink Crew is a program of Friends of Sorauren Park, supported by our generous local sponsors and Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation.
