The CTV news series GTA From Above, shot from the CTV helicopter, has featured Sorauren Park and the future Wabash Community Centre in its latest installment. You can see the article and short video on the CTV website.

CTV multi-media journalist Ted Brooks’s interview with Friends of Sorauren Park chair Joël Campbell provides the narration for the video. Joël talks about the history of the Canada Linseed Oil Mill company, whose building adjacent to Sorauren Park is the site of the future community centre. The city has hired Diamond Schmitt Architects to design the new centre, and city-led community consultations are expected soon.

The video has great views of the park, including the oil mill, the dog park, the natural ice rink, and even the UP Express zipping by in the opening scene.

The park has a rich industrial history, and was the site of the company that built the steel work that holds up the Bloor Street Viaduct (aka Prince Edward Viaduct).
