Very soon, with the cooperation of Mother Nature, it will be rink season at Sorauren Park. That means the volunteer Sorauren Hosers are getting ready to set up the boards, prepare the hoses, and most importantly, set up this year’s schedule of nightly rink flooding (and Rink Drink pub nights).
Here’s how it works: Each night of the week, a different crew of two to four hosers preps and floods the rink starting at 9 p.m. (weather permitting). Each crew has an experienced captain. The Hosers also maintain a list of alternates a) in case someone is pulled away for the evening, or b) all-hands-on-deck required to clean up after a storm.
Pick your night of the week and sign up! You’ll get email notices regarding scheduling, rink building, and socializing.
