UPDATE 29 JANUARY: The rink is closed, sigh. The weather has not been cooperating. We need several days in a row of consistent below-zero temperatures to bring back the ice. Fingers crossed for the rest of the winter. Watch this space and Twitter for updates.
The rink features two interconnected ice pads. Goalie nets are set up on the west-side pad for shinny. Shinny rules apply: all welcome, no lift shots.
The rink closes at 9 p.m. each night for flooding, necessary to keep it ship-shape. If the temperature rises above zero, the rink is also closed. Please stay off on those days so it has a chance to be brought back.
Big thanks this year to rink sponsor Meridian Credit Union at Roncy and Howard Park. Also thanks to supporters Downtown Lumber, Pollocks Home Hardware and Addison Inc., and to Parks, Forestry and Recreation.
