Metrolinx hosting “Big Move” roundtable at Metro Hall Feb. 9

The Big Move is Metrolinx’s plan to rebuild transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

“It’s all about tackling gridlock and improving transportation access, integration and efficiency. And – whether you drive a car, use public transit, cycle or walk – this plan will change how you get around your community,” says Metrolinx.

Metrolinx is hosting a roundtable about its plan to get the region moving. It’s a good opportunity to learn about and discuss current and future transportation projects.

For friends of Sorauren Park, it’s also a good opportunity to ask about the expansion of diesel train traffic beside the park, about the 5-metre noise wall planned for the corridor to dampen the sound of the diesel trains, and the second phase of the Railpath from Dundas to Strachan. Get the update from Metrolinx on electrification (they are talking about it, but there is no commitment from the Ontario government).

The roundtable-format meeting will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Metro Hall at John and King St. West, in Room 308. No registration necessary.
