Kids’ soccer league looking for age 4-6 coordinator

Sorauren Soccer

Monday night magic at Sorauren Avenue Park from May to early July, when age 4-6 soccer (and the Farmers’ Market) takes place

The all-volunteer Sorauren Park Sports Association, the parents’ group that works with Parks, Forestry and Recreation to produce the popular kids’ soccer and baseball leagues at the park, needs a coordinator for the age 4-6 soccer level for the 2013 season.

The Sorauren Park sports program is run on the steam of volunteers.

The sports season that happens in our local park is part of what makes the Roncesvalles community such a great place to live. It gives our kids a chance to be active and healthy and learn at an early age the joy of competitive sport. It also ends up being one big social event for our neighbourhood’s families during the May through July period. Over 500 children play sports in our park every week.
The role of SPSA is to leverage the City of Toronto’s regular recreation programming by:

  1. Raising sponsorships from local businesses that fund all the ‘extras’ in No. 2 below
  2. Organizing team t-shirts, medals and trophies, team photos, the July awards ceremony and fun day, and the coach appreciation night
  3. Recruiting volunteer coaches
  4. Maintaining the association’s website

Please consider this Volunteer Opportunity. It is a short-term and fun commitment from February – July.

Your support is most welcome!

If you would like to get more active in the community and volunteer, please SPSA volunteer chair Liz Leason. She can be reached at or on cell at 416-697-5902.
